IFDF PAC

IFDF PAC Impact Highlights:

  • Filed a complaint on behalf of funeral homes & removal service companies alleging restraint of trade & at-need solicitation in violation of current Florida law prohibiting removal companies from contracting with hospitals & hospice providers.
  • Wrote language & helped pass legislation to reduce licensing requirements for individuals to sell pre-need insurance in 2023.
  • Worked with the CFO & Governor to appoint two independents to the State Regulatory Board in 2022.
  • Won the battles to protect the public with the Consumer Protection Trust Fund.
  • Struck down the proposal to weaken the trusting law by allowing large stock-held companies to bond rather than trust pre-need dollars.
  • Prevented hospices from opening their own funeral homes on hospice properties.
  • Kept a large conglomerate from providing “free grief counseling” to tens of thousands of life insurance policy holders.
  • Prevented the state from taking money out of the Consumer Protection Trust Fund to fund other government operations.
  • Supported legislation to allow you to operate more than one location with a single FDIC.

Thank you for supporting independents across Florida!
