Our members receive consistent and exclusive representation by IFDF in its lobbying efforts with the Florida Legislature and all funeral-related regulatory agencies in Florida. Members also receive a free legal advising session with Luke Grabowski, IFDF's General Counsel.
Annual Conference and Professional Development
Every year, hundreds of members attend our IFDF Annual Conference & Trade Show. This multi-day event grants members access to educational sessions and courses, professional development, networking, exhibits, and more. It's family friendly and a great escape from your day-to-day, too!
Members also have the opportunity to stay connected with other industry professionals in their local area through our Regional Dinners. These are wonderful chances to network over delicious food and drinks!
Continuing Education and Industry News
Our members enjoy state-approved Continuing Education courses held around the state and at the annual conference.
Through our partnership with Continuing Vision, members can participate in a semester long free mentorship program that matches funeral professionals with students in need of mentorship. In addition, IFDF hosts a webinar series, "Straight Talks," covering professional development topics for non-owner funeral directors, crematory and removal staff.
Every quarter, members receive The Independent Reporter, which provides updates on IFDF activities and issues that impact the profession. Members also receive the Independent Weekly, a weekly email newsletter containing association updates, industry news, member insights, and more.
Mortuary Student Support

Led by our incredible Student Liason, Beatriz Cains, IFDF supports mortuary students at every step of their path. From being accepted into school, becoming licensed, and connecting with other members to find the right fit in their career. Through Continuing Vision, student members can participate in a semester long free mentorship program that matches them with funeral professionals. Students also receive free access to Student Day at our annual conference!
