Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer 

Seeking a long-term licensed funeral director and embalmer located in Northeast Florida who wants to grow with our company.  Someone who is driven, a self-starter, and has great initiative.

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Valid driver’s license and active Funeral Director and Embalmer license  
  • Experience preferred, but not required 
  • Ability to show compassion and love to the families we serve, with reverence for the loved one who has passed on 
  • High level of communication skills 
  • Team oriented - works well with others
  • Physically able to lift over 150 pounds
  • Ability to be on a 7-day, on-call, schedule
  • Knowledgeable of cot operation and removal techniques, handling situations with excellence 
  • Competency of general funeral home operations; facility and vehicle cleanliness, phone etiquette, utilize computers and technology efficiently 
  • Willingness to learn 
  • Ability to travel with reliable transportation
  • Keep a positive, friendly demeanor and keep good-working relationships with our work family
  • Represent yourself well, be polite and well mannered 
  • Wear the brand proudly with the understanding that promoting Ferreira is constant


  • Assisting with initial first calls and coordinating team members to assist on in-home removals 
  • Scheduling arrangement conferences and meeting families on a preneed basis on occasion, near need and at need basis regularly 
  • Coordinating and facilitating all funeral directing and embalming needs; preparing the loved one for planned services with embalming, restorative art, dressing, casketing, cosmetizing, hairstyling, etc; being active and present throughout the entire process from the at-need conference to their loved one’s final disposition
  • Multiple facility availability 
  • Leading an office and work staff on services 
  • Coordinating opening and closing of graves with our crew and/or with the regulated cemetery of choice
