- Restoration & Reconstruction: 30+ cases; proficient in surface and hypodermic treatments, wicking technique, cranial reconstruction, lateral frontal bone and eyebrow reconstruction, and hair transplants.
- Desairology: 100+ cases; cosmetic application, hairstyling, and corrective work.
- Procedural Skills: Raising vessels, suturing, fluid selection, cavity embalming, embalming instruments, surface preservation, desairology.
- Removals: 35+ home and facility removals with professionalism and dignity.
Directing Expertise:
- Served as primary point of contact for families, providing compassionate guidance from first call through final disposition, and aftercare.
- Directed and supervised funeral and memorial services; worked closely with clergy, law enforcement, medical examiners, airport officials, county representatives, and other third-party vendors.
- Escorted families into chapels for sensitive cases (sudden death, infants, suicide, long-term holds, ship-ins, and trauma) with empathy and composure.
- Hosted private viewings (infants, children, elderly, trauma, decomposition) and provided grief resources, including stationery, journals, and child-loss literature.
- Supervised up to three associates during services; educated colleagues in prep room procedures despite not holding an official trainer title.
- Coordinated contracts, merchandise, service revisions, payments, and county assistance cases.
- Consistently kept accounts receivable near zero.
- Served on call evenings and weekends. (Included having the phones some nights and removals on others.)
- Began crematory training; assisted in processing cremated remains.
- Directed events from start to finish: ordered live music, flowers, and catering; set up and decorated chapels with family memorabilia; oversaw cleanup, storage, and return of property post-event.
- Supervised associates and collaborated with law enforcement, clergy, videographers, medical examiners, and vendors to ensure seamless services.
- Initiated first calls to next of kin, confirmed case details, assessed cultural/religious needs, and scheduled arrangements with empathy.
- Conducted removals/transfers with dignity; traveled to an Orlando Consulate for international burial and coordinated ship-ins/ship-outs with funeral homes throughout America. I have also worked with a 3rd Party that coordinates international ship-outs.
- Directed services across traditions: Catholic, Hispanic Catholic, Hindu, Greek Orthodox, Jehovah’s Witness, Baptist, Islander, non-denominational, and secular.
- Coordinated with national cemeteries, military personnel, and veteran services; ensured proper benefits, authorizations, and graveside protocol.
- Managed prep room inventory; ensured readiness of equipment, chemicals, PPE, and supplies.
- Used Excel (Statements of Goods & Services), Word (letters and documents), and EDRS system (pre-hack) for vital records.
- Processed payments, insurance, requested 1099s, and check requests; supported families with life insurance claims and veteran benefits. Worked with a 3rd party who processed life insurance as well as filing claims and obtaining insurance assignments independently.
- Greeted families, offered refreshments, and facilitated arrangement conferences; promoted services, merchandise, catering, flowers, and music as appropriate.
- Escorted families into chapels for high-emotion cases; visually inspected decedents and services for quality and alignment with contracts; initiated corrective actions when necessary.
- Performed attendant duties as needed: driver, pallbearer, usher, courier, parking management.
