We aim to provide regular content that we hope will resonate with you and will be helpful to you as a student or a new professional. This blog is an introduction to what the IFDF can offer you, a student or a new professional. In the video above, William, Beatriz, and Barbara share their perspectives on the benefits of IFDF student membership. William is the IFDF Student Liaison for the three funeral service programs in Florida and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Georgia. He is a great resource to both students and new professionals.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, this is true, as you will see from the photos below. Welcome to the IFDF!

Conferences are a time to deepen our connections with mentors and cut up with family and friends. Topgolf outing in Orlando was an absolute blast. (Photo: Matthew Vonesh)

2022 IFDF Student Day was a great success! Students from several local mortuary education programs were able to meet and connect right in Trade Show ballrooms, where some vintage funeral coaches and ambulances were on display. (Photo: Matthew Vonesh)

Monica Torres of NXT Generation Mortuary Support led an interactive technical lecture on embalming for obese cases on 2022 IFDF Student Day at the annual conference & trade show.

Monica guides professionals in the realm of hard-case embalming, while expanding on normal case procedures with advanced embalming tips, specifically for obese cases, addresses sensitive vocabulary to use while dealing with families, how to charge and update the GPL for these sensitive cases, safety for staff and families, solutions for handling or moving the body, and legal considerations for dealing with bodies who require alternatives to accommodate excell weight.
